Every Georgia football fan by now knows how electric of a run the Bulldogs have been on over the last week on the recruiting trail. After a commitment from four-star wide receiver Craig Dandridge on Thursday, Georgia has now earned a new commit five days in a row.

That streak is already impressive enough, but Kirby Smart and his staff weren't ready for it to stop as they earned another commitment from four-star corner Chace Calicut Friday afternoon.

Georgia lands top CB out of Texas

According to the On3 Industry rankings, Calicut is the No. 117 overall player in the country. He also is the No. 15 corner in the 2026 recruiting class and the No. 19 overall player from his home state of Texas.

The Bulldogs earned this commitment over in-state program Texas as well as recent National Champion Michigan. And while this commitment gives Georgia a great reason to celebrate and rub it in these programs faces, the Wolverines responded not long after with a big commitment of their own.

4-star OT Malakai Lee chooses Michigan over Georgia

Just a few hours later, Michigan responded by earning a commitment from four-star offensive tackle Malakai Lee, who chose the Wolverines over Georgia, Texas and Alabama.

According to the 247Sports composite rankings, Lee is the No. 137 overall player in the country and the No. 10 offensive tackle in the 2026 class. So it's clear to see how this was a big loss for Georgia and a massive win for Michigan.

Thankfully Georgia was able to earn a commitment from Calicut, so it makes this loss not hurt as much. Another positive way to look at these two recruitments is that SEC rival Texas lost both battles, which includes one in-state prospect for the Longhorns.

Georgia now turns the page to Saturday where they will look to make it seven straight days with a commitment. And according to multiple reports, the Bulldogs are trending with the No. 1 defensive lineman in the country who is scheduled to announce his commitment on Saturday, June 28.
