One of the top wide receivers in the country shockingly entered the Transfer Portal on Friday. That player is Ole Miss wide receiver Cayden Lee.
Lee is origianlly from the state of Georgia, so many assumed this meant that UGA stood a great chance at bringing him to Athens. That however turns out to not be the case for two big reasons.
Georgia somehow isn't in the running for top Transfer Portal WR
The first important detail is that Lee said he plans to return to Ole Miss if Rebels quarterback Trinidad Chambliss is granted another season of eligibility. Chambliss is currently fighting the NCAA in court for another year of eligibility, and so far whenever that happens the courts rule in favor of the player. So the most likely outcome is that Chambliss will return to college for one more year and Lee will follow him back to Ole Miss.

The expectation is he’s going to withdraw from the portal and stay at Ole Miss if Trinidad Chambliss gets his waiver to be able to play next year, sources tell @CBSSports.

But what happens if Chambliss doesn't get granted another year in college from the courts? Does that mean Georgia would be a contender to earn his commitment? Rivals' insider Radi Nabulsi doesn't think so.

Lee would've been a huge addition to Georgia's wide receiver room. During his career he has recorded over 1,500 yards and 100 receptions which Georgia absolutely could benefit from next year. But even though Georgia won't be adding Lee to their roster there is no need to panic.
Georgia's wide receiver room is full. Sure they could've made room for a player as talented as Lee, but the Bulldogs already have enough wideouts in their program for next season.
So at the end of the day it clearly would've been nice to even have a chance at landing Lee, but Georgia apparently isn't even in the running. There isn't a good explanation for why that is the case, but regardless there is no reason for UGA fans to panic.
