Gunner Stockton may be one of the most interesting players in the country entering this college football season. None of that has anything to do with him because he is as low key as a superstar quarterback will ever come, but the discourse surrounding him is what makes him so intriguing.
There are many college football fans and analysts out there who think Stockton will improve from last year and be one of the best players in the country. On the flip side, there are equally as many people who believe he is the reason why Georgia can’t win a National Championship this year.
Stockton will prove one of those groups right this year, but he arrived at summer workout this week and showed off a brand new physique that shows that the people backing Stockton might end up being right.
Everyone keeps talking about John Mateer. I guess they didn't watch that recent video of Gunner Stockton. pic.twitter.com/oLLWwO6zKO

The rest of the SEC should be in shambles after seeing Gunner Stockton's new physique
Stockton has already tormented the SEC since taking over as Georgia's starting quarterback. Not only did he quarterback Georgia to an SEC Championship last season, but in 2024 he took over at halftime in the SEC Championship game and led UGA to a comeback victory over Texas.
Stockton has always been a capable thrower, but it has always been his running ability that has made him special. And based on the picture above, it looks like he is going to be nearly impossible to bring down this season.
Stockton has a lot of other areas he needs to improve on if Georgia is going to win a National Championship this season, but his strength and toughness is something that won't need to be questioned.
Can Gunner Stockton match his arm to his legs?
No one has ever been bold enough to question Stockton's legs, and that will absolutely be the case after seeing the above picture. But what Stockton has to improve on this offseason is his arm.
Stockton was a solid thrower last season, but he struggled at times connecting on his deep ball. Georgia was still able to win the SEC even with that being the case, but if they want to go deeper in the College Football Playoff he needs to be more efficient down the field.
It's hard to judge how much his deep ball has improved during the offseason when he isn't throwing against a live defense, but he has been showing off his arm during offseason workouts lately. Will that translate to the season ahead? Who knows, but it's clear that he is doing everything in his power this offseason to improve and lead Georgia to a National Championship this season.
