Gunner Stockton had a special guest at his family Christmas

Gunner Stockton has a great argument for being the best leader in the Kirby Smart era at Georgia. He has a lot of work to do to become the best quarterback, but there haven’t been many (if any) players to come through Georgia that are a better leader than him.

Every fan can see his leadership on the field, and players and coaches alike have talked about how great he is off the field. But the latest example of his leadership qualities came out on Saturday as he invited punter Brett Thorson to spend Christmas with his family.

Players were able to spend some time at home around the holidays since Georgia had so much time off before their first game in the College Football Playoff. So players who were able to travel home did so to spend some time with their family on Christmas.

Thorson however is originally from Australia, so he obviously can’t head home for Christmas. But instead of being alone on campus all day, Srockton invited him to spend Christmas with his family.

This may seem a little insignificant, but this action from Stockton will only make Georgia better. This will increase the team’s chemistry and trust in him right before their biggest game of the season, and better chemistry will give Georgia a better chance at beating Ole Miss.

Stockton’s ultimate goal is to be known as the best quarterback in Georgia history. That is a lofty goal, but he has every opportunity in front of him this season to start building his case. But regardless of what happens the rest of the season, Stockton has cemented himself as one of the best people to ever play at Georgia.

And that might be more important than and wins on a football field.
