Gunner Stockton will be the first one to tell anyone that he doesn't love being in the spotlight, giving interviews. Stockton doesn't even like being on social media, let alone being talked about in the media, but he put all of that aside to represent Georgia at SEC Media Days this year.
Even though Stockton isn't a fan of being in the media or on social media, it doesn't mean he doesn't see the things that are being said about him. SEC football analyst Paul Finebaum made some comments not too long ago about Stockton criticizing his play in the Sugar Bowl against Notre Dame, and the Bulldogs quarterback could have lashed out, but instead chose to take the high road with his response.
"I mean, that'd be like me saying you're a bad reporter," Stockton said. "Like anybody, you take offense to whatever furs you, what fuels me is just doing right by my teammates and trying not to let them down."
Gunner Stockton heard what Paul Finebaum had to say about him this offseason.

Gunner Stockton isn't letting the internet hate get to him
Even though Stockton has yet to truly be named the Georgia starter, he isn't letting anyone see him sweat and is worrying about everything he has the power to worry about right now. Stockton is worrying about being the best leader he can be for his team and elevating his level of play so that if he is named the starter for the Bulldogs, he can do what is needed for his team.
If Stockton were to let every internet hater get to him, then he would constantly be down, but instead, just like he mentioned, he is letting it fuel him instead of breaking him down. This offseason, Stockton's goals on the field were to work on his footwork and learn more of the playbook in order to be ready for the 2025 season. He is also actively working on his leadership skills to be the best teammate he can be.
So while some want to speak poorly about Stockton, thinking it will rattle him, he is just letting it slide and focusing on what he has the power to focus on.
