Gunner Stockton continued his dominant start to the season against Kentucky as he helped lead Georgia to a dominant 35-14 victory. But it wasn't a perfect performance from Stockton because he threw his first interception of the season early in the second quarter.

This was the first interception of the season for Stockton which all things considered is pretty good, but this interception came at a crucial point of the game. Georgia was driving early in the seocnd quarter looking to extend their lead to two scores, but Stockton threw this interception deep in Kentucky territory. This gave the Wildcats a lot of momentum and an opportuniy to tie the game, but UGA's defense stood tall and got the offense the ball back without giving up any points.

But this interception came at the worst possible time because the Wildcats could have taken advantage of it to make this a more competitive game.

Gunner Stockton overcame early interception in a big way

Stockton was very solid overall on Saturday outside of this interception. He completed 15 of 23 passes for 196 yards and one touchdown. He also ran the ball six times for an impressive 48 yards and two scores as well.

Stockton showed once again that he is at his best when he is effective on the gound. He was able to find a lot of his success early in the game with his legs, and this gave him the confidence to throw the ball down the field even after this interception.

Stockton was able to get away with this interception because Kentucky isn't a very strong team, but the same can't be said for the rest of this season. If Georgia is going to repeat as SEC Champions Stockton can't afford to have costly turnovers like this because it is just a matter of time until a good team makes him pay.
