Georgia football is taking part in SEC Media Days on Tuesday, and quarterback Gunner Stockton is one of the three players in attendance alongside Kirby Smart. Stockton has discussed a lot of things in Atlanta already, but one of the topics he was asked about is all of the doubt the college football world is throwing his way this offseason.

Stockton's response to this was what any UGA fan would expect, but he did give a nice shoutout to Smart for how he has helped him handle these comments all offseason.

"I'm not a big social media guy," Stockton shared via si.com. "But seeing your coach kind of defend you makes you feel good. I'm not really worried about what people say. Just ready for the season. Can't wait."

A lot of college football analysts have been publicly doubting Stockton entering the 2025 season, but one of the analysts who has been the loudest is Paul Finebaum. He arguably has taken his comments too far when it comes to how much he doesn't believe in Stockton this year, so much so that Smart came to Stockton's defense and called Finebaum out to his face earlier this offseason.

Thankfully Stockton shared he doesn't spend a lot of time on social media, so he likely hasn't seen a lot of the hate he's been receiving this offseason. But he inevitably will see some of it which includes these comments from Finebaum.

It's probably best for Stockton to not respond to these comments and let his play do the talking this fall. That is exactly what Stockton shared his plan is as he "can't wait" for the 2025 season to begin. And while he waits for his time to prove everyone wrong, Smart will likely continue to play his role in defending his quarterback as much as he can.
