While there were some positives to be had from Georgia's 28-6 victory against Austin Peay on Saturday, overall the feeling was that the Bulldogs were not good enough. Quarterback Gunner Stockton feels that way as well.
And after their win on Saturday, Stockton took the time to send a clear message to his team as Georgia heads into the beginning of SEC play.
"I think at the end of the day we won, but it wasn't our standard in how we were supposed to play. We've just got to get back to work and make the most out of every practice and treat it like a game day."

Gunner Stockton sent a clear message to his offense after disappointing win
Stockton understands that at the end of the day it is important that Georgia was able to win, and that is all that matters in college football. But at the same time he recognizes that they need to play much better if they are going to accomplish their goals this season.
While Georgia's entire team needs to play better going forward, it's UGA's offense that needs to improve the most, and that begins with Stockton.
Stockton finished Saturday’s game completing 26 of 34 passes for 227 yards. While that is a decent performance, Stockton failed to find the end zone and was not effective with his legs. On top of Stockton’s struggles, Georgia’s offensive line has issues in pass protection, their wide receivers had a few drops and starting running back Nate Frazier had a turnover on the first drive of the game.
So even though Georgia beat Austin Peay by a comfortable margin, Stockton knows they weren’t good enough.
The Bulldogs now face an extremely difficult test as they travel to Tennessee for their SEC opener, and it goes without saying that Stockton and the entire team will need to play better if they’re going to win.
