Gunner Stockton took the road less traveled for EA College Football 27

Who doesn’t love a good video game? Even adults enjoy winding down with a nice video game, and for the biggest college football fans they finally have had an option to play their favorite sport.

EA Sports is set to release the third edition of their college football video game in July, and on Friday the stats of every player in the game were released. Upon reviewing who was included in the game from Georgia, none other than Gunner Stockton was nowhere to be found.

Why isn't Gunner Stockton in EA Sports College Football 27 video game?

There really is only one reason why Stockton isn't going to be in EA Sports new video game. In order for players to be included they must opt in with EA Sports to allow them to use their name, image and likeness in their video game. Nearly every player chooses to opt in because what's cooler than being in a video game, Stockton however may have chosen otherwise.

Stockton wouldn't be the first superstar quarterback to opt out of one of EA Sports video games as Arch Manning chose to opt out ahead of the release of College Football 25 two years ago. Manning did ultimately change his mind and opt in a few months later, but he originally wanted nothing to do with the game.

It seems strange that Stockton would randomly choose to not be in the game, so the more likely reason why he won't be in the game may be because he forgot to opt in before the deadline.

Does Gunner Stockton even care if he missed EA Sports College Football 27 video game deadline?

Stockton probably couldn't care less if he is in this video game or not. He seems like the type of player who is solely focused on preparing for the season ahead, so it wouldn't be surprising to find out that he had no clue he even needed to opt into the game in the first place.

And if that's the case then Georgia fans should be really excited.

There are a lot of mixed opinions about Stockton heading into this season. Some believe that he is going to be one of the best quarterbacks in the country while others think he will be the reason Georgia doesn't win a championship this year. Only time will tell when ends up happening, but if he forgot about the deadline because he is so focused this offseason then that could be a good sign for what's to come later this fall.

Will Stockton eventually choose to opt in like Manning did? Probably, but at the end of the day that shouldn't really matter to even the biggest video game enthusiasts because all that does matter is how prepared Kirby Smart makes him this offseason.
