Some exciting news was shared in the Georgia football program as a few Bulldogs have officially graduated from the University of Georgia.
While everyone is always focused on their play on the field, fans tend to forget about all the hard work that each player puts in the classroom as well. So when graduation season comes around every year, it’s important to celebrate the accomplishment that is earning your degree from Georgia.
And while the graduating players one would expect to see would be current players on the team, there is a former Georgia football legend that is also graduating as well.

Herschel Walker graduates from Georgia
Even though Walker’s playing career has been done for decades now, he has always stayed pretty close to the program. And it turns out he’s stayed pretty close to the University as well.
So one of the greatest Georgia Bulldogs of all time has become even more of a legend, because someone who’s been as successful as Walker doesn’t need a college degree, but his love for Georgia trumped that and made him want to finish his degree.
After an ugly Senate loss, Herschel Walker quietly became a college student again at 62. He went to class, biked around campus, and finished what he started. My column for Sunday—> Way to go, Herschel Walker https://t.co/cItKL1nSy6

Lastly, this article by Patricia Murphy is a great read, but it’s worth pointing out what she mentions in her post and the hilarious picture it paints. The fact that someone like Walker was going to classes in person is pretty remarkable on its own, but imagining him biking around campus is even better. This is almost too impossible to believe, but at the same time it’s not all that surprising from Walker either.
So while every Bulldog who’s graduating deserves to be celebrated, Walker does as well. It’s an amazing accomplishment no matter who you are, but to do it at his age when he doesn’t need to do so is even more reason to celebrate in his case.
