Will the College Football Playoff committee do the right thing and move Georgia football back into their top five?

The College Football Playoff rankings are once again being released, and this week's rankings are more important than any of the previous. The college football season only has the conference championship games to be played before the official12-team CFP field is released, so that means not every team will even be playing this week.

So while some teams like South Carolina and Alabama will learn this week if they have a chance to make the final 12-team field or not, others like Georgia football are battling for their playoff positioning. A win this weekend in the SEC Championship game will automatically give Georgia a top four seed and first round bye in the CFP. This is critical because Georgia needs as much time as they can possibly get to heal up before their CFP run.

On the other hand, if Georgia loses then they will have to play in the first round, potentially on the road instead of at home in Sanford Stadium. Georgia would also only get about 14 days off before this game, which will likely be a week less than whoever their opponent is.

Georgia has a great chance to move up in this week's rankings due to two teams in front of them losing. But will the CFP committee actually move the Bulldogs up, or will they continue to disrespect Georgia like they have in recent weeks?

Here is how you can watch the CFP rankings release show to find out.

The updated CFP rankings will be released on Tuesday, Dec. 3 at 7:00 pm EST. The show, like in previous weeks, will be aired on ESPN.

Hopefully the CFP committee does move Kirby Smart and Georgia up like everyone expects, because the SEC Championship game would then be a battle between top five teams.
