Georgia football always has a few true freshman that arrive to campus early and immediately show how talented of a player they are. Competing and winning playing time as a true freshman is a difficlt thing to do, so it is a big deal anytime a freshman is already demonstrating they are a force to be reckoned with this early in the offseason.
On3's Steve Wiltfong and Pete Nakos recently shared a list of 10 true freshman who are already turning heads this offseason, and Georgia defensive lineman Elijah Griffin was given that honor.

5-star DL Elijah Griffin
Griffin is a consensus five-star recruit out of Savannah, GA who was one of the top players in the 2025 recruiting class. According to 247Sports, Griffin not only was the No. 3 overall player in the country, but he was the top ranked defensive lineman and the No. 1 player from Georgia as well.
Georgia fans have not received much intel yet regarding his progression so far on campus, but Nakos and Wiltfong, who are two of the most respected insiders in college football, have heard that he is turning heads already.
So what type of player is Georgia getting out of Griffin? Here is a brief writeup that 247Sports gave about Griffin on his recruiting profile.
"Disruptive interior force that fuses together exceptional physical traits with an advanced feel for the game. Has proven to be no match for the competition that he has faced and followed up an uber-productive prep career with a dominant showing during practices for the Under Armour All-America Game. Equipped with the size, length, quickness and power to handle both one and two-gap responsibilities in a variety of different alignments as he can charge up field or take on double teams in the middle."
Griffin has a chance to be one of the true freshman who makes an immediate impact on the field for Georgia later this fall. And in all honesty, it would be shocking if he didn't. So if you haven't learned his name yet, this is your warning, because his name will be called early and often when the season begins in August.
