Defensive lineman Elijah Griffin is quickly becoming the most talked about true freshman for Georgia football this year. Griffin was the No. 1 recruit in Georgia’s 2025 class, and so far he is living up to all the hype at UGA.

Former Georgia defensive star turned college football analyst David Pollack knows a thing or two about what it takes to be successful in college football. So the below statement from Pollack about Griffin should have every Georgia fan should extremely excited.

"I think he's a guy (Griffin) that can come in and play a bunch of snaps and and be really good," said Pollack via ugawire.usatoday.com. "Now, he's not going to go kill it. Jalen Carter-type good. Like Jalen Carter when you saw him as a freshman, like he was not refined. He wasn't Jalen Carter as a as a junior."

Elijah Griffin is the next Jalen Carter

Pollack has been so impressed with Griffin so far to the point that he sees a lot of Jalen Carter in him. This is about as good of a comparison as any incoming freshman could have made about them because Carter was a legend at Georgia and is having a very good NFL career so far as well.

The one thing however that is standing out the most about Griffin is his speed, which according to Pollack is next level for his size.

"Enormous, 6-foot-5, you know, 300-plus pound kid, that's an 18-year-old freshman, that continues to hit over 20 miles an hour every week on the GPS," said Pollack.

If all of this isn’t enough to get excited about Griffin, then adding the fact that Kirby Smart is over the moon about him as well should do the trick.

Georgia’s defensive line room is a little thin this year, so that means Griffin could receive a lot of playing time this season. So don’t be surprised if he has the best season out of all the freshman at Georgia this year.
