If a college football program wants to be sucessful in today's day and age, they need to adapt and aggressively attack the transfer portal every single offseason. The nice thing about the transfer portal for Georgia football is that they can be very selective about who they go after in the portal.
Kirby Smart and the Bulldogs will always bring in top recruiting classes out of high school, so there will always be new, elite prospects for Georgia to utilize every season. But if UGA wants to stay at the top of the college football world, they still need to use the portal often, they can just afford to be more picky about who they go after.
But a tight end from USC has just entered the transfer portal, and Georgia would be wise to go after him.

USC tight end Duce Robinson
USC tight end Duce Robinson has announced that he plans on entering the transfer portal this offseason. This is one of the biggest announcements yet this transfer portal cycle as Robinson is a former five-star recruit and the No. 1 tight end from the 2023 class, according to 247Sports.
Robinson might be a name you remember, because Smart and his staff aggressively pursued him out of high school. Georgia was even thought to be the leader in his recruitment as they received a few crystal ball predictions in their favor, up until he committed to the Trojans.
Not only was Robinson an elite recruit out of high school, but he has backed that up in his two seasons with the Trojans. This season, Robinson recorded 23 receptions for 396 yards and five touchdowns. His ESPN profile also states that he recorded an interception this year, which is something you don't see too often from a tight end.
It is yet to be seen if this is a prospect that Georgia will go after, but there is a past relationship with Robinson and he has done very well in college so far, so it may not be the worst idea in the world for Smart to try and bring him to Georgia.
