Georgia football was without their star corner Daylen Everette during their week one contest against Austin Peay. Everette reportedly suffered an ankle injury in practice in the lead up to the Marshall game that ended up keeping him sidelined. It ultimately ended up not mattering because Georgia was still able to win with ease, but seeing one of UGA's top defenders sidelined with an injury was concerning to say the least.

Georgia once again will not need Everette to beat Austin Peay on Saturday, but it would be nice to have him back so fans know that he is healthy and ready for the long season ahead. Also, with a massive showdown at Tennessee looming next week, having one game under his belt would be good for Everette in preparation for that game.

So will Everette be back? According to Kirby Smart's latest update it sounds like Georgia's top corner could be ready to go this weekend.

Daylen Everette Week 2 injury update

Earlier this week Smart shared the following update when it comes to Everette and his injury.

"[He] seems to be doing well," Smart shared via 247sports.com. "He was able to run and do some things yesterday and should be able to crank it back up today and do more."

Smart did not confirm that Everette will be playing, but this is a very positive update. The fact that he can run around and take part in certain aspects of practice is a big deal, and it also sounds like Smart expected him to do more and more towards the end of the week at practice as well.

So while there is no confirmation that Everette is playing this week, he more than likely will take the field. His presence will be an added bonus against Austin Peay and for Everette himself as he hopes to be one of the top corners in the country this season.
