Georgia football and Kirby Smart have their eyes set on the No. 1 linebacker in the country in the 2026 recruiting class. That player is Tyler Atkinson who according to the 247Sports composite rankings is the No. 10 overall player in the country and the top ranked player from his home state of Georgia.

Being an in-state recruit, Atkinson has been on campus to Athens many times as he has shown a lot of love to Georgia throughout his recruitment. He also has one crystal ball prediction on 247Sports to commit to UGA, so the Bulldogs seem like the team to beat right now.

But recruitments are crazy nowadays, so Georgia needs to continue to recruit Atkinson hard until he hopefully commits to Georgia. While Smart and his staff continue to do just that, they did get some help in recruiting Atkinson from none other than Georgia linebacker Jalon Walker.

Jalon Walker makes his best pitch

Walker can be seen in the above video making his best pitch as he attempts to convince Atkinson to commit to Georgia to continue the tradition of great linebacker play in Athens.

Any former or current Georgia player recruiting Atkinson would be very helpful, but Walker arguably is the player who would have the most sway with Atkinson. Walker is the reigning Butkus Award winner which goes to the nation's best linebacker. He also is projected to be a first round draft pick in this spring's NFL Draft, so Atkinson clearly would love nothing more than to accomplish the same things that Walker did during his career at Georgia.

It remains to be seen if that will happen at Georgia or not, but the Bulldogs are currently one of the favorites to land Atkinson. And moments like this from Walker will only help Georgia in their pursuit.
