Georgia scored nine touchdowns on Saturday in their win over Tennessee State, but their eighth score may have been the most special.
The Georgia Bulldogs had an outstanding performance in their week one outing against Tennessee State with a final score of 63-3. The game marked the first time coach Kirby Smart ever covered a spread of at least 38 points in a game which is a refreshing thing to see.
Fans had a lot to be excited about in their 60-point victory. The receivers did great, the defense was strong, and the tight ends looked phenomenal. Of those things to be excited about, arguably the most exciting touchdown was Jeremy Bell's 54-yard touchdown grab in the fourth quarter. After the game, Smart revealed the catch was far greater than what met the eye.

In his post-game press conference Smart brought up Bell's touchdown grab and what that meant to him. Smart stated that Bell had lost his brother last week, and despite the loss, he came back after the funeral and practiced with the team. It was a special moment that showed an emotional Bell surrounded by his teammates and the crowd cheering him on.

Plays like this are what college football and sports are all about. As said by Smart, the "brotherhood" and guys cheering for one another were a special sight in this football game. Several young guys who had never seen Dooley Field before got the chance today, and it was beautiful.
They all did phenomenal, and all Bulldog fans cheered them on despite the heat. So many big plays happened. There were so many positive things you can take away from this game, but that touchdown takes the cake.
Whether or not Bell sees more opportunities on the field this season, he will never forget that touchdown, and neither will his friends or family. It reminds me of when Marquise Goodwin of the San Francisco 49ers had an 83-yard touchdown in 2017 after losing his newborn son hours beforehand. Football unites us all. It can make you emotional in winning, losing, and the best moments like this.
In these moments, we are glad to have these distractions that make us forget about what's wrong in the world. The teammates being there for him, cheering him on, shows the brotherhood of this team and how far they will go for one another. In the hopes of this season being a special one, the Bulldogs and Jeremy Bell already have one moment to be thankful for today.
