The College Football Playoff committee released their third rankings of the season on Tuesday, and Georgia moved up one spot to No. 4. This was their expected landing spot after beating Texas thanks in large part to Alabama losing to Oklahoma, but it's hard to be excited about this new ranking when Georgia deserved to be ranked even higher.
Ohio State, Indiana and Texas A&M all remained above Georgia, and since they are all undefeated this choice largely made sense. But diving into Texas A&M's resume and comparing them to Georgia shows that the Aggies do not deserve to be above UGA.
And Fox Sports analyst Joel Klatt agrees as he was bold enough to put Georgia above Texas A&M in his rankings.

Joel Klatt did what the CFP committee refused to do
Klatt did what the CFP committee was unwilling to do by ranking Georgia above Texas A&M even though the Aggies are still undefeated. This may seem like a strange thing to do since both teams are in the same conference, but Georgia's resume is clearly much better than A&M's.
The Aggies only have one good win this season on the road against Notre Dame. Other than that they do not have a single quality win on their resume. The Aggies have benefitted from the easiest SEC schedule of all time because all seven of their opponents they've played are in the bottom half of the conference standings.
Georgia on the other hand has played Ole Miss, Texas, Tennessee and Alabama.
So while Texas A&M does have the better record, Georgia's resume is more than good enough to make up for the one less win they have. Unfortunately the CFP committee does not see it that way, but Klatt is one of the few media members that does.
