There are a lot of big questions still surrounding Georgia football heading into the 2025 season. The biggest question is at quarterback as the Bulldogs do not have a proven player at the most important position on the football field.
But outside of quarterback, UGA once again has amazing depth at nearly every position and will have one of the best rosters in the SEC and country. However, those questions at quarterback certainly are enough for Georgia fans to understand not being the favorite to win a National Championship this season or even win the SEC.
But CBS Sports analyst Josh Pate is not buying the hype at all, and even has Georgia outside of his top 10 rankings for the upcoming season.

Josh Pate upsets Georgia fans by ranking Bulldogs outside of top 10
Josh Pate doesn't think Georgia is a top 10 heading into the season, but he believes Oklahoma and Florida is which is interesting.

Has Alabama at four, which I don't have an issue with.
Has Ohio State at 8, which just doesn't add up to me.
Has LSU ranked ahead of ND, and I… pic.twitter.com/MlA2XMqq2O

This is where I cut the episode off. How absurd to not have Georgia in a top 10.

Before fans get too upset, Pate does have Georgia as the No. 11 team in the country in his rankings, but that doesn't save him from the atrocity of having the Bulldogs outside of his top 10.
No Georgia fan will claim that Georgia should be the No. 1 team in the country. Most would likely be fine being outside the top five even because teams like Ohio State, Texas, Penn State, Oregon and Notre Dame have great arguments for being above Georgia. But some of these teams above UGA make little sense, and they all come from the SEC.
Placing Alabama above Georgia is fine, most UGA fans may not agree with it but it's not egregious enough to get upset over. But what has LSU, Florida and Oklahoma done to deserve a spot above Georgia? All three teams were not just bad last season, but they were multiple steps below Georgia. So how can they all of a sudden be better than Georgia without proving anything on the field?
Sure all three teams did excellent in the transfer portal this offseason, but there’s no guarantee those pieces fit together when they take the field this fall.
The good thing for Georgia is that they’ll have their chance to prove everyone wrong during the season. And if everything goes like Georgia fans think, they’ll shoot up these rankings very fast and contend for an SEC Championship again this fall.
