It is not the biggest deal in the world, but the Georgia Bulldogs were able to add to their growing 2027 recruiting class on Saturday night. Three-star offensive tackle Abram Eisenhower decided it was his time to Commit to the G. Eisenhower stars for regional power Lowndes down in Valdosta, a city and a region Smart knows well from having coached there previously. Eisenhower is UGA's eighth commit.
At 6-foot-5 and 280 pounds, Smart's team inherits a big body that could help them in the trenches.

According to the 247Sports Composite, Eisenhower is the No. 62 prospect from Georgia, the No. 47 offensive tackle prospect in the 2027 recruiting class, and the No. 537 overall player in his class. Eisenhower had 30 official offers, including ones Auburn, Duke, Florida State, and South Carolina. In addition to Georgia, Eisenhower is supposedly going to visit with all five teams from May 1 to June 19.
Let's unpack now why Eisenhower is the exact type of recruit Smart loves to bring over to Georgia.
Kirby Smart, Georgia add to 2027 class with 3-star OT Abram Eisenhower
What this commitment tells us is many other teams in the region were high on Eisenhower. With him being in-state, that Georgia offer means something. With his obvious frame, Eisenhower can learn to grow into it and become such a big force in the trenches for Georgia, assuming he takes to coaching. Georgia can get any four or five-star it wants, but developing a three-star is Smart's bread and butter.
Many of Georgia's greatest players were underrecruited. Stetson Bennett IV, Rodrigo Blankenship, Ladd McConkey, and David Pollack immediately come to mind. Just because you only have a certain amount of stars attached to your name coming out of high school does not mean that is as good as it gets for you in the college game. Maybe Eisenhower becomes one of the best book-ends of all time?
To tie a bow on this, Georgia needs to continue to hone in on landing players out of high school who really want to be there for the long haul. The transfer portal may be king in college football, but the foundation of many great programs start and end with high school recruitment. As it is the case with investing, it is not what you make, but what you keep... Eisenhower seems to be a real building block.
For now, it will be intersting to see how the rest of the 2027 recruiting class comes together for UGA.
