There are a lot of ways that head coaches can make a recruit feel important. But Kirby Smart has by far the coolest way of doing that.

Smart is known to fly around in his helicopter from time to time to go recruit players around the state. He usually reserves this gesture for the most important recruits Georgia is targeting, and he decided that Friday night was the perfect opportunity to use his helicopter again.

So who was the recruit he flew in to visit? That honor goes to four-star wide receiver Craig Dandridge.

Kirby Smart sent a clear message to 4-star WR Craig Dandridge

Dandridge is a four-star wide receiver from the state of Georgia. According to the 247Sports composite rankings, Dandridge is the No. 160 overall player in the country. He also is the No. 25 wide receiver in the 2026 recruiting class and the No. 22 player from the Peach State as well.

Dandridge should be a familiar name to Georgia fans because he is already a UGA commit. He made the decision to commit to Georgia on June 26 which was one week after he wrapped up his summer official visits.

Since committing to Georgia he has not shown any signs of flipping to another school, so it is strange that Smart is taking the time to go out of his way to visit him if there isn't fear UGA could lose him. But Smart likely is just reminding Dandridge how much he matters to Gerogia's recruiting class, and that is never a waste of time for someone as talented as he is.

Oklahoma, Stanford and Georgia Tech were the three other schools to host Dandridge on an official visit this summer, so if any school is attempting to flip him it is likely one of those three. But Dandridge's commitment feels as secure as it can possibly be, and Smart showing up to his game in a helicopter should only help even more.
