Georgia football got off to a fast start to their 2025 season as the Bulldogs went out and dominated Marshall 45-7 on Saturday. Not only was it nice to see the Bulldogs look so electric on the field during this game, but the Georgia fans in the stands were excited to finally have UGA football back as well.

However, attendance for Georgia's season opening win apparently wasn't as strong as it has been in previous years, and a lot of fans left the game early as well. This is something that the media noticed throughout the game, and it appears Kirby Smart did as well.

Smart was asked about Georgia's sparse attendance during his press conference after Saturday's win, and while his answer didn't share too much, but it is obvious that he was thinking the same thing as the reporter who asked this question.

"Yeah, you said it. I didn't," Smart shared via 247sports.com.

Kirby Smart challenges Georgia fans

Suggesting that Georgia's fans didn't show up for this game is a crazy thing to say because Sanford Stadium was packed at the start of kickoff. However, Georgia's fans did leave early while the game was still going on, but it's hard to fault them for that because of how big of a lead Georgia had.

Regardless, Smart likely wants to see Georgia fans stick around for the entire game because he wants an amaing atmosphere even when their backups are in the game.

It will be interesting to see if Georgia's fanbase responds to this message from Smart or not. Their next chance to do so is this Saturday when the Bulldogs welcome Austin Peay to Sanford Stadium, but this game likely will be a blowout just like Saturday so fans may decide to leave early again.

But Georgia does have a massive home game against Alabama looming in week five, so that will be UGA fans first opportunity to really show how great of an atmosphere they can create this season.
