Lane Kiffin has won a ton of games at Ole Miss, but Kirby Smart has won even more at Georgia. Fresh off their most recent meeting on Saturday night, one where points were not at a premium and very little defense was to be had, Smart got the last laugh over his friend and former Alabama colleague. It all goes back to Kiffin answering an unprompted question earlier in the week about burning calories...
Kiffin questioned if Smart actually does a good job of burning calories on the Georgia sidelines.
"I walked by the TV and saw his press conference today, so I don't know if he is burning too many calories."
Kiffin then walked this back by calling his friend and former colleague the best coach in college today.

Smart clearly kept the receipts and closed Saturday night's press conference with this jab at Kiffin.
"I do want to thank Lane though, for the end of the game. He gave me some hot yoga tickets that I can go get a yoga, so I tell him I appreciate that."
Kiffin is a big fan of doing hot yoga, whereas Smart is a big fan of winning games to make the playoff.

There are very few mic drops that are as cool or as perfectly timed as what Smart just pulled off.
Kirby Smart coming in hot with his hot take on Lane Kiffin's hot yoga love
As the old adage goes, never change, Lane. Never change... With the Dawgs and Rebels splitting the last two games they have played, we have a bit of a budding rivalry on our hands between these two SEC contenders. Although they do not meet regularly, Georgia owns the series lead at 34-13-1 all time. Georgia has won 12 of the last 14 meetings, 13 if we do not count the vacated game from 2016.
But since Kiffin has taken over in Oxford in 2020, the Rebels have been a much different program. Kiffin has gone 50-19 overall and 28-17 in SEC play since taking over in 2020. He has had the Rebels win at least eight games annually in a non-COVID season, thrice winning 10 or more. As for Smart, he has had the Dawgs playing in effectively New Year's Six Bowl games every year since his second one.
For as long as Kiffin remains at Ole Miss, he should have the Rebels operating in and around this level, good enough to beat most teams in SEC, but maybe not the top dogs. As long as Smart stays in Athens, the Dawgs will remain a playoff staple and a national championship hopeful, assuming he keeps recruiting and is not let down by bad assistants. He simply does not have time for hot yoga.
Rather than sweating it out in a studio somewhere, Smart would rather sweat it out on the sidelines.
