Georgia football is just days away from their first SEC game of the season as they travel north to face the Tennessee Volunteers. The Bulldogs currently are are favored by 3.5 points, and a big reason for that is because of two key injuries for Tennessee.

The Vols have confirmed they will be missing their top two corners on Saturday which Georgia fans have pointed to being a huge advantage for UGA. But Kirby Smart doesn’t agree at all.

“They've had the same corners playing since the first game. So, they've got good corners. The two kids they've got playing are good players,” Smart shared via 247sports.com. “I think a lot of people look into those things and read into them sometimes. When you've got good players that are playing and have played, it just becomes more experience. So, I don't know how much it changes anything for us."

Kirby Smart disagrees with Georgia fans on “advantage” for UGA

Any team that has gotten to the level Tennessee has in recent years needs a lot of depth. No one can rely solely on their starters to become one of the top teams in the country. So that means the backups Tennessee has at nearly every position are extremely talented just like their starters. Sure they may not be as good as their starters, but they are still good enough to compete in the SEC.

Smart also pointed out that Tennessee’s backup corners have a few games under their belt this season as well. So it’s not like they’ll be seeing their first action this weekend which would be a disadvantage.

It will be interesting to see if Georgia’s offense is able to take advantage of these injuries or not, but after watching UGA’s offense against Austin Peay it’s definitely not a guarantee that these injuries will have any impact on the game in the first place.
