Grant Haviland is a four-star tight end that Georgia is recruiting. On paper this seems like a pretty standard recruitment, but that couldn't be further from the truth.
Haviland is the No. 251 overall player in the country and No. 13 tight end in the 2027 recruiting class. That typically means he will have a lot of suitors and will drag out his recruitment into the summer with lots of visits. But that is where Haviland is different from most recruits because he only wants to take one official visit this summer.
4⭐️TE Grant Haviland will only take one official visit. That will be to the school he commits to. We go inside Georgia’s chase for that visit to take place in Athens. #GoDawgs

4-star Grant Haviland makes crazy announcement in his recruitment
Haviland recently shared that he only wants to officially visit the one school that he is committed to. Knowing that official visit season begins in two months, that means his recruitment is already coming to an end soon.
It's still unclear where Georgia exactly stands with Haviland in his recruitment. Georgia also doesn't know who their main competition is for him either. He however is from the state of Georgia, so one can assume that Georgia will be a major player throughout his recruitment if they continue to prioritize them like they have been.
As mentioned, the above report indicates that Haviland will only take an official visit to one school. It however doesn't say anything about unofficial visits. So there is a great chance he will take a lot of visits to various programs the next few months, and that likely will include Georgia.
So whenever that visit occurs it is extremely important for Kirby Smart to put on the best visit possible because that will likely be the only chance he has to host him before he announces his commitment.
The stakes have never been higher in an individual recruitment, but as the stakes get higher that is typically when Smart is at his best. So Georgia should expect to be a major player throughout this recruitment.
