This season of college football has seen countless head coaches fired already. And not only have a lot of coaches been fired, there have been multiple big names fired from top programs as well.
The latest example was LSU head coach Brian Kelly being let go Sunday night. Kelly is the second notable SEC coach to be fired as Florida moved on from Billy Napier two weeks ago as well.
This turmoil throughout the college football world has led ESPN's Paul Finebaum to proclaim that "no coach is safe anymore in college football." While that statement is pretty accurate for the most part, it couldn't be further from the truth when it comes to Kirby Smart and Georgia.

Kirby Smart and Georgia are a glaring example of why Paul Finebaum is wrong
Smart and Georgia have found so much success during the past decade. The Bulldogs have won three SEC Championships and two National titles during Smart's tenure as head coach, and it's this success that has made Smart the highest paid head coach in the country.
This immense success has also put Georgia and Smart in a position where he is nowhere near being releived from his duties as UGA's head coach. In fact, Smart might be the coach in the country who is the furthest from being fired.
There are a few other programs out there who are nowhere near firing their head coach as well. Ohio State and Ryan Day are in that category as are Indiana with Curt Cignetti, but there is no greater example of why Finebaum's statement is inaccurate than Smart and Georgia.
The point Finebaum is trying to make though is accurate. It does feel like no coach is safe after the countless firings that have already occurred this season. But he does need to specify that Smart, along with a few others, are as secure at their schools as they can possibly be.
