It was only a matter of time before former four-star linebacker recruit Elijah Littlejohn flipped from Penn State to Georgia. The Charlotte native was committed to Penn State from June 16 to Oct. 16. His three-month commitment to Penn State ended shortly after James Franklin was relieved of his coaching duties. Littlejohn then reopened his commitment, looking most at Georgia and Vanderbilt.

After taking an official visit to Athens on Friday, Littlejohn announced his intentions to flip from Penn State to Georgia on Sunday afternoon. While Penn State could conceivably land somebody else suitable between now and National Signing Day to replace him, the rich get richer in Dawg Nation. This is the sign of the times that Georgia is doing everything in its power to remain Linebacker U.

As it is with everything, nothing is official in the recruiting world until after the Hayes Fawcett tweet.

According to the 247Sports Composite, Littlejohn is the No. 18 player from North Carolina, the No. 31 linebacker in his class, and the No. 408 overall prospect in the 2026 recruiting cycle. Again, he was looking primarily at Georgia and Vanderbilt after decommitting from Penn State. He also was garnering some major interest from Georgia Tech. Once he decommitted, it always felt like Georgia.

Let's now unpack what this means for Littlejohn and Georgia moving forward after his commitment.

For Georgia, Littlejohn's commitment shows that the Bulldogs can get any linebacker from seemingly anywhere in the country to Commit to the G. Charlotte is not that far away from Athens, but it is still out of state. Furthermore, it just goes to show that for as long as Kirby Smart remains at the helm of this program, the Dawgs can compete with anyone for the best players on either side of the football.

As for Littlejoh, he probably has great aspirations for the NFL. Going to a football factory like Georgia and Penn State is one of the easiest ways to make it there as a traditional linebacker. Once it became clear that Littlejohn was not going to honor his Penn State commitment, Georgia quickly came into view. Yes, Georgia Tech and Vanderbilt can produce linebackers, but nowhere to the degree of UGA.

Ultimately, this commitment just shows how important having stability at head coach is. Losing Franklin largely cost Penn State Littlejohn. While Brent Key and Clark Lea are thriving at their alma maters, neither are on Smart's level. Will they ever get there? Doubtful, but there are levels to this. At the top of the food chain are juggernaut teams like Georgia, so let's let the big Dawgs eat once more!

Littlejohn flipping to Georgia is just another sign of the times that Georgia has so much momentum.
