Georgia football is officially back as the Bulldogs began fall camp on Thursday ahead of their 2025 season opener on Aug. 30. While there are countless things Georgia fans will monitor closely throughout the next month, the amount of injuries may be the thing fans will pay the most attention to.

Kirby Smart addressed the media on Thursday and he thankfully shared that the Bulldogs are healthier now than they have ever been in the last five years.

“Really pleased with the offseason work ethic of our summer program… We’re probably the healthiest we’ve been coming into a camp in the last 5 years.”

Georgia is entering fall camp as healthy as they have ever been

Injuries were unfortunately one of the biggest stories from Georgia’s 2024 season. It seemed like every week there was another injury update Smart had to give that impacted a key player.

At the end of the day it is football that’s being discussed, so injuries are just part of what happens. But it did feel like Georgia did not have luck on their side last season when it came to the amount of injuries they had to face.

However, it appears that this luck is starting to shift in UGA’s favor as Smart shared that this is the healthiest Georgia has been entering fall camp in the last five years.

The hope now is that Georgia will stay healthy throughout fall camp, but unfortunately it’s likely just a matter of time until some Bulldogs pick up an injury. But hopefully nothing serious happens this next month so Georgia can be in a great position to start their season off at full strength.

Georgia begins their season with two easy non-conference games, but right after that they have the pleasure of playing Tennessee and Alabama to start their SEC slate. So the healthier Georgia stays throughout fall camp, the better their chances will be against these teams at the start of their season.
