Talk about starting off the day with a bang. On Saturday, the annual Georgia football spring game is here and Athens is going to be packed with fans ready for a sneak peak at what the 2025 campaign will have to offer. Well, there's already another reason to be excited for 2026 too.

On Saturday morning, safety Kaelan Jones has decided that he doesn't need any additional time to think about where he'll be playing his college ball. That's right, the 6-1, 185-pounder will be suiting up for Kirby Smart and Co. once his high school days are over. This is an exciting get for the Bulldogs. Hayes Fawcett of On3 was the one to break the news:

In-state safety Kealan Jones has committed to the Georgia Bulldogs

Jones may only be ranked three stars by the 247Sports Composite, but he's the No. 32 safety in the country and he's widely considered a fast riser. Don't be surprised if he potentially gets a bump in his ranking at some point during his senior campaign.

In addition to Georgia, the newest Bulldogs pledge also picked up offers this cycle from Florida, Georgia Tech, Arizona State, Auburn, Michigan, North Carolina and many others. He's a playmaker for Sprayberry High in Marietta, which is only about 90 minutes outside of Athens.

Being able to play at the next level with his family and friends being so close had to be a major selling point for Smart and his staff. With the addition of Jones for the '26 haul, the Bulldogs and Smart are now up to six known pledges for the 2026 class.

Jones is joined by fellow safety Zech Fort, receiver Vince Spafford, tight end Lincoln Keyes, receiver Brady Marchese and defensive lineman Seven Cloud as the commits on board for UGA. With so many visitors in Athens this weekend too, some more big news for Smart could be on the way.
