Georgia football’s win over Auburn on Saturday was as good as it gets. The Bulldogs trailed Auburn 10-0 and were showing no signs of life, but all it took was one big play and the Bulldogs dominated the rest of the game.
The game itself will be remembered by Georgia fans forever, but so too will the celebrations that commenced after the game. Kirby Smart was seen jumping on tables on the sidelines, taking pictures with fans and going absolutely crazy with his team. But when he was asked what the atmosphere was like in the locker room after the game, he refused to answer.
"I'm not allowed to say that," Smart said via 247sports.com. "I did that a while back and got reprimanded by my mother. I'll use some better judgment this time. Just tell them that I was proud of them."
Kirby Smart saves himself by not discussing postgame locker room celebrations
Smart shared that he will not be discussing what the celebrations were like in the locker room after Georgia’s win over Auburn. And his reason for doing so is quite funny.
Smart said that if he shared what went down in the locker room he would get in trouble with his mother. Apparently that has happened in the past, so to save himself from the one person who can still reprimand him he opted to keep those details to himself.
Georgia fans can likely imagine just how special that locker room celebration was. If Smart and his team were going as crazy as they were on the sidelines, then one can only imagine what took place behind closed doors.
Georgia however has no more time to celebrate with No. 5 Ole Miss strolling into Athens this weekend. But if UGA can emerge with another victory it’s likely that the postgame celebrations will be just as wild again this week.
