Georgia football's College Football Playoff run did not go as planned last season. The Bulldogs eanred a first round bye which was their ultimate goal, but they lost to Notre Dame in their first game of the playoff.

Georgia now finds themselves in an identical position as last year as the SEC Champions with a first round bye. The hope now is that Kirby Smart and his staff have come up with an improved plan to put themselves in a better position when they do take the field again. Unfortunately Smart shared that he currently does not have a plan for how they are going to attack the next few weeks.

"As far as the practice schedule and how we go about it, not sure on that yet,” Smart said via 247sports.com. “We're going to work hard on ourselves, but the coaches will work on the opponent, but I don't know how much opponent work we'll do ourselves until we know who it is."

Smart shared earlier this week that he does not have a plan in place yet for how they are going to practice and prepare for their upcoming playoff game. To be fair it is difficult to start preparing when they don't know who their opponent will be, but to not have a plan after what happened last season is a little concerning.

The good news is that Georgia has plenty of time to figure out what their best course of action is throughout these next few weeks. However, it is a little concerning that they haven't come up with anything yet.

Smart is as good as they come in the college football world, so he certainly will have a plan in place very soon. And he likely will use their mistakes last year to come up with a much better plan this season.
