Georgia doesn't go into the upper northeast for recruits very often, so when the Bulldogs staff decides to offer someone from the region, it's a prospect worth noting.

Four-star quarterback Keegan Croucher might just be that guy. One of the top arms in the 2027 class, Croucher caught the eye of the Bulldogs staff and announced he had received an offer.

Croucher is a prospect out of Connecticut that plays for Cheshire Academy. He is a multi-sport star that could very well have a future in baseball, but that hasn't stopped many of the top programs from expressing interest. Before announcing the Georgia offer, Croucher had said his early top three were Penn State, Oregon and Ole Miss.

As Croucher's recruitment continues to gain steam, the rising junior says he's just trying to take it all in.

"Obviously, looking up from the outside perspective, if I was a little kid right now looking at this, I would be in awe, seeing this is happening and seeing my dreams unfold," Croucher said. "But it is just the first step in this journey. I have a long way to go, and I'm going to continue to work my butt off."

The 247Sports evaluation of Croucher speaks to his arm talent and a big quarterback frame of 6-foot-4 and over 200 pounds. National recruiting scout Greg Biggins writes the following about Croucher:

"Has a live arm and easy velocity, can get the ball down the field with ease without a big windup. Strong mechanically with a tight release and can throw from different arm angles. Shows good mobility in the pocket, can feel pressure and either climb the pocket or escape outside and make plays off-script."

Looks like another Big Ten/SEC battle

Despite Croucher naming a top three, it doesn't seem like an announcement is imminent and I expect other programs, like Michigan, to make a charge at the quarterback over the next six months.

Ole Miss is already in the picture and Georgia is hopeful that the offer will get the Bulldogs an additional look. Early on, however, Penn State might be the team to beat and if the Nittany Lions are tough to beat out for prospects in that region.
