Another day means more injury updates from Kirby Smart. Georgia has suffered a fair amount of injuries throughout the season, but to this point they have avoided catastrophe. The hope now is that this injury luck will continue, but there were a few injuries from Saturday's win over Auburn that could spell bad news for Georgia.

Smart provided two positive injury updates on Monday running back Chauncey Bowens and offensive lineman Juan Gaston. Both players are reportedly working through some injuries, but neither appears to be serious according to Smart.

Georgia football injury update on Chauncey Bowens, Juan Gaston

The first update from Smart was on Bowens who has quickly become one of the top options out of Georgia's backfield. In fact, he leads the team in rushing yards so far this season which has been a pleasent surprise after all the hype surrounding Nate Frazier this offseason.

According to Smart, Bowens has been dealing with a minor injury for a few weeks now, but he should be "ready to go this week."

"It was a deal going into the game, we felt like he was going to be able to go," Smart shared via 247sports.com. "It bothered him some. It bothered him some last week, but it never got to the point he wasn't going to be able to play. But he was as effective probably early. We weren't effective. I don't know that it was him. But we struggled to run the ball a little bit early. When those other guys got going, we went with those guys. But he should be find. He should be ready to go this week."

On top of the update on Bowens, Smart also discussed an ankle injury suffered by Gaston, who is a true freshman offensive lineman who has started a few games for the Bulldogs this season.

"Yes, Juan, ankle, kinda re-injured, bothered," Smart said. "He went back in. As I understand, he came back out and bothering him. He's trying to go today. We'll see where he's at."

While Smart is confident Bowens will play this weekend against Ole Miss, the same can't be said for Gaston. Gaston will attempt to practice on Monday and that is when Smart will know where his health is at. But for now it is unclear if he will be available against Ole Miss this Saturday or not.

Georgia's first official injury report will be shared on Wednesday, and that is when fans can expect to learn if Bowens and Gaston are trending in the right direction or not.
