Kirby Smart has been on a roll with commits in the Class of 2026, bringing his recruiting class to the No. 2 class in the country according to 247Sports. However, Smart is also landing commits in the Class of 2027, well, at least he just landed one for Dante "Tae" Wright, a 4-star cornerback out of Long Beach, California.
Wright announced his commitment to Georgia over other big schools such a Oregon, Texas A&M, and USC. Wright is ranked as the No. 82 player in the Class of 2027, the No. 10 cornerback in the class, and the No. 9 player in the state of California according to 247Sports Composite Industry ratings. Wright is just the second player to commit to Georgia in the 2027 class, joining 3-star wide receiver Gavin Honore.
You can never start too early when it comes to recruiting, and to ensure having an elite class like the one Georgia has now, you have to get a head start ahead of the other schools. With recruitment open for the Class of 2027 and coaches able to directly contact prospects, now is the time to make first impressions and get guys in the building.

Georgia is making a splash in this recruiting cycle
The Gerogai Bulldogs leapfrogged the Notre Dame Fighting Irish in the recruiting rankings over the weekend with some big recruitments. Along with the announcement of Wright, Georgia also earned another recruit in the Class of 2026 with PJ Dean flipping his commitment from South Carolina earlier today to the Georgia Bulldogs.
Georgia now has 25 commits in their 2026 class and two in their 2027 class, putting the Bulldogs ahead for next season already. This is big for Smart and his coaching staff as he is making a splash and working to ensure Georgia's top standing in the future.
