Lane Kiffin suddenly a fan of Georgia's work in Mississippi

Win or lose, Lane Kiffin's head is in the clouds surrounded by all things and everything Bulldogs.

Never change, Lane. Never change... Heading into halftime of Ole Miss' latest non-conference game vs. The Citadel, Lane Kiffin could not help himself. After seeing his Rebels lose to Kirby Smart's Bulldogs, he was pleasantly surprised to see Georgia "boat racing" Jeff Lebby's Mississippi State Bulldogs, while clobbering Maurice Drayton's Bulldogs from The Citadel. All Dawgs, all of the time.

Georgia improved to 8-1 on the season with its 41-21 road win over Mississippi State in Starkville. Mississippi State fell to 5-5 on the year after its latest defeat. Ole Miss improved to 9-1 on the season by shutting out The Citadel, 49-0. As long as Georgia keeps winning, it is only good for Ole Miss' playoff resume. They will host Florida next week before traveling to Starkville to play in the Egg Bowl.

Kiffin continues to be one of the greatest quotes of all time in the college football coach profession.

While Ole Miss has matched last year's win total of nine games, the Rebels probably need to win out to finish at 11-1 to ensure themselves of a playoff berth. It would be their first one in school history. Georgia has three more games, but two more of significance. As long as they split the pair between Texas at home and Georgia Tech in Atlanta, the Dawgs will make the playoff in back-to-back seasons.

Shockingly, Kiffin is thoroughly impressed by the work Smart's team has done inside his team's state.

Lane Kiffin's playful Georgia remarks could come back to haunt him soon

Look. Ole Miss is about as likely of a playoff team as Georgia is right now. The percentages may favor Georgia a bit more now, but the SEC is getting at least four teams into the College Football Playoff, and Georgia and Ole Miss will be among them. As long as a team wins 10 games and plays in the SEC, they will be making the playoff. It is all a mathematical equation, one that favors both programs a ton.

Overall, Kiffin is proving to be a good enough head coach to almost back up all of his shenanigans. Last year was supposed to be the year the Rebels were finally going to make the playoff. Instead, they suffered losses to Florida, Kentucky and LSU. One day, a 9-3 non-conference champion is going to make the playoff, but this does not look to be the season for it. Ole Miss just needs one more win...

Ultimately, Georgia is probably going to end up with a top-eight seed, regardless of if it loses to either Texas or Georgia Tech, just not both. Ole Miss may have played one more game than Georgia, but the Bulldogs own the head-to-head tiebreaker over them. As long as the Rebels continue to win, this remains an incredibly impressive victory for Georgia. Should the Dawgs keep winning, it is also great.

Kiffin straddles the line between being a great head coach and one of the greatest trolls of all time.
