Later on Tuesday night, the updated College Football Playoff rankings will be released. And after a wild day that saw Georgia football clinch their spot in the SEC Championship game after multiple upsets around the country, there are sure to be a lot of changes.

Georgia is expected to climb at least a few spots while other teams from the SEC will likely drop out of the top 12 altogether. But while the college football world waits for the official rankings to be released, Andy Staples with On3 just released his projected CFP bracket, and this projection gives Georgia an easy path to the championship game.

Georgia football has easy path to the CFP title game

The first thing worth pointing out is that Staples has Georgia as the No. 2 overall seed, which means he has Kirby Smart and Georgia winning the SEC Championship next week. That earns Georgia a first round bye and matchup with the winner of Indiana and Notre Dame's first round game.

UGA has to love their chances against either team, mainly because both teams do not have an impressive resume this year. They both sit at 10-1, but Notre Dame's one loss came to Northern Illinois and Indiana's came in a blowout against the only good team they've played this season. Sure both teams are blowing out their opponents recently, but that isn't all that impressive when you look at who they have been playing.

So Georgia would be a favorite against both teams, and shouldn't have much of a problem beating either team.

After that, Georgia would play 3-seed Miami (FL), 6-seed Penn State or 11-seed SMU in the semifinals. This game is arguably easier than the last as all three of these teams present an easier challenge than a team like Notre Dame would. So if Georgia got to the semifinals and got to play one of these three teams, a national championship appearance would be very likely.

Who knows what would happen in the national championship game after that, but Georgia surely would have at least a decent chance at beating any team they would face there.

So while the actual CFP bracket will likely look different than this in a couple weeks, Georgia fans will want to watch carefully for where they line up with Oregon and Ohio State. Those are the two best teams in college football right now, so being put in the opposite half of the bracket compared to them (like in this projection) would be ideal.

And if Georgia wins the SEC Championship, there is a great chance of that happening because UGA would likely earn the 2-seed and Oregon and Ohio State will be the 1-seed and 5-seed which will always be in the other half of the bracket.
