Texas Longhorns fans just won't learn their lesson. All offseason the only thing they wanted to talk about was how good quarterback Arch Manning was going to be. This added so much pressure onto a young QB who was taking over the Longhorns offense for the first time, and it was very easy to see how that impacted him.

Manning started his season at Ohio State where he struggled the entire game en route to their 14-7 loss. Texas and Manning have gone on to win their next two games, but Manning has yet to look like the player he was hyped up to be. But that fact isn't stopping Texas fans from continuing to prop him up as the next great college quarterback, and that is the best case scenario for Georgia right now as it will keep the attention of off them.

Arch Manning distraction will let Georgia live in the shadows

The latest propaganda from Texas fans occurred this week when they began comparing Manning to former LSU quarterback Joe Burrow. Everyone knows that Burrow is one of the best college quarterbacks of this generation, so he is what most QBs should aspire to be like.

Texas fans however are pointing out that Manning's stats so far this year look very similar to Burrow's 2018 season, which is the year before he and LSU took over the college football world.

Texas fans are using this comparison to suggest that Manning will be just as good as Burrow was, which is about as abusrd as they can get. Could Manning become as good as Burrow? Technically he could, but is it likely to happen? No.

This hype however is great for Georgia because it takes the attention off of them. Georgia just took down a ranked team on the road (something Texas couldn't do) behind the elite play of Gunner Stockton (something Manning hasn't done). But instead of Georgia and Stockton receving a lot of hype after their win over Tennessee, Texas fans are still wanting to dominate that conversation.

This means that Georgia can live in the shadows, let their team quietly improve while no one is paying attention, and sneak up on Texas when they play later this season. Georgia will be able to let Stockton develop at his own rate without the added pressure of needing to live up to the greatest college quarterback in recent years while Manning needs to somehow live up to that comparison now.

So thank you Texas fans, because this insane comparison will only add more pressure to your quarterback which is something he hasn't been able to handle so far this season.
