One of the three first round picks for Georgia football during the 2025 NFL Draft was safety Malaki Starks. Starks was selected with the 27th overall pick in the draft by the Baltimore Ravens.
Being a first round pick means there are a lot of expectations to play and contribute right away, and according to teammate Kyle Hamilton, Starks is "miles ahead" of where he was as a rookie.
"I honestly think he's miles ahead of where I was as a rookie."

Malaki Starks is having an impressive offseason with Baltimore
This is quite the statement for anyone to make, but it is extremely significant coming from a player like Hamilton. Hamilton has been in the NFL for three seasons now, and durng those three years he has made it to the Pro Bowl twice and was an All-Pro one time as well.
Hamilton is a safety as well, so he knows what it is going to take for Starks to be successful in the NFL. And so far he believes Starks is miles ahead of where he was as a rookie, and if that is the case Starks is going to have a special career.
Starks was a force all three seasons he was in Georgia. There isn't one season that stands out from Starks' career in Athens because all three were extremely impressively. It's that consistency that was likely a very attractive quality to the Ravens and why they chose to select him in the first round of the draft.
Baltimore fans should expect big things from Starks this season. As his career goes on he definitely could blossom into one of the top safeties in the NFL, but right now he is a very reliable player who will be able to contribute in a big way during his rookie season.
