You love to see it! While many Georgia players opted to hit the transfer portal after this past season, one key name stepped up to the plate to answer the bell for 2026-27. That would be their star guard, Marcus Millender. The former South Alabama and UTSA guard served as Georgia's sixth man for a while last year, before switching places with the outgoing Jeremiah Wilkinson. Oh wait, there is more!

Millender's younger brother Kemauri Millender is transferring to Georgia from the junior college level.

In Millender's first season at Georgia, he averaged 12.0 points, 4.1 assists, and 2.8 rebounds in 26.1 minutes per contest. While he appeared in 33 games last season for the Dawgs, Millender only made eight starts for them. All of them came pretty much after Wilkinson hurt his shoulder in the latter part of SEC play. It may have marginalized Wilkinson, but this empowered Millender to make a difference.

With his brother coming over from junior college, expect for this Georgia team to be all about family.

It is not everything, but it most certainly something. The basketball program is at a bit of an inflection point under Mike White's watch. Georgia has regularly won 20-plus games in a season, as well as having made the NCAA Tournament in back-to-back years for the first time in over a generation. However, the Dawgs have failed to advance in the NCAA Tournament for going on a quarter century.

So what this transfer of Millender's younger brother means is he will be taking an even bigger onus on what transpires next year. One of the most frustrating parts about last season's team was for as much as the talent was there, Georgia often lacked a go-to scorer in crunch time situations. Millender would occassionally serve that role, but Wilkinson's score-first mentality was a bit of a double-edged sword.

Overall, White needs to ask himself and honestly, his players, who wants to be here? Who wants to do something great? Who wants to be remembered? Mental toughness was not last year's team's forte in the slightest. The fact that Millender got better as the season went along, carving a larger role for himself in the process, he could be a huge reason why the Bulldogs can make it to the Round of 32.

The transfer portal has not officially opened up yet, but you better expect the floodgates to open up.
