Week 1 has officially arrived, and the Georgia Bulldogs have their first victim of the season in sight: the one and only Marshall Thundering Herd.

Currently, the Bulldogs are favored by a resounding 38.5 points, according to FanDuel Sportsbook. Yet, the Thundering Herd hasn't backed down from the challenge, some players even going as far as to say they're feeling confident heading into the game.

Veteran defensive lineman KaTron Evans shared his thoughts on the matchup, saying that he thinks Marshall is "going to shock a lot of people."

Evans went on to say that most of what Georgia does is simply capitalizing on other teams' mistakes, not necessarily creating any of their own opportunities.

"The first week is the best time to have [Georgia]," Evans said at a media availability. "We don't know what to expect out of them, and they don't know what to expect out of us because we're a whole new team."

For a little more context, Evans joined the Thundering Herd this offseason, following one year at Jacksonville State (2021) and one year at Charlotte (2024). Later on in the media availability, he said that Sanford Stadium isn't unlike any other place he has played.

Over his two seasons of in-game appearances, he only played against one ranked team on the road: the then-No. 25 Navy Midshipmen.

Simply put, Evans is hyping up his team way too much ahead of its matchup against the No. 5-ranked Bulldogs, who have gone 50-4 at home under head coach Kirby Smart since he took over the program in 2016.

Georgia and Marshall are scheduled to kick off at 3:30 p.m. ET on Saturday, Aug. 30, from Sanford Stadium. The matchup will be broadcast on ESPN. Time for Evans to see if he can live up to the expectations he set.
