This is going to backfire.

There have been countless interesting storylines throughout the offseason that have involved Georgia football. Most recently it has been the dominant run the Bulldogs have been on over the last week on the recruiting trail.

But the biggest story so far this offseason has been former quarterback Carson Beck leaving Georgia and transferring to Miami (FL).

Beck's performance at Miami during this upcoming season won't impact Georgia at all, but UGA fans will be paying close attention to see how he and the Hurricanes will do this fall. So as the season approaches, it is going to be interesting to see how he fits in at Miami and if he is able to recover from his injury.

Miami head coach Mario Cristobal has spoken about Beck a lot throughout the past few months, but his most recent statement about Beck where he described how good he can be is borderline delusional.

"The second coming of Joe Burrow."

Carson Beck's expectations are far too high at Miami

Cristobal was recently quoted comparing Beck to former LSU quarterback Joe Burrow, saying that he thinks Beck could be just as good as Burrow was. Every college football fan in the country can see how ridiculous this statement is because Burrow is arguably the best quarterback college football has seen in the past decade.

But what makes this statement even more insane is that Beck didn't show he was anywhere close to Burrow's level during his two seasons as Georgia's starting QB. This was especially the case last year where Beck was one of the biggest reasons why UGA's offense struggled so much. So if Beck couldn't reach Burrow's level at Georgia with all of the talent around him, then there is no shot he accomplishes that at Miami.

Time will tell how this next season works out for Beck and Miami, but Miami fans are going to be very disappointed if they expect him to be anything like Burrow.
