Mike Bobo again targeted by fans after epic failure at the goal line vs. Austin Peay

The Georgia Bulldogs played with their food once again in the first half due in part to Mike Bobo.

When does it stop being a coincidence? Mike Bobo has been with the Georgia football program on and off for the better part of four decades now. He may have been a good quarterback when Kirby Smart played for the team in the mid-1990s, but the game seems to have passed him by from an overall play-calling standpoint for the umpteenth time again. His latest catastrophe was so brutal...

In the final seconds of the first half vs. Austin Peay, Georgia got within one foot of hitting pay dirt to make it 20-3. Instead, one dumb wide receiver screen after another culminated in no additional points heading into halftime. Georgia may lead the Austin Peay Governors 14-3 heading into the second half, but how many more games will Smart allow for his offense look this pedestrian under Bobo's watch?

For those who watched it fall apart down the stretch vs. Austin Peay, everything on X was justifiable.

Mike Bobo is taking Georgia's offense back to prehistoric ages once again

It should come as no surprise that X had a field day watching Bobo's offense once again malfunction.

Whether or not it proves to be a saving grace, there was a weather delay in Athens before the start of the third quarter. It may afford enough time for the Georgia players to get their minds right once again to navigate another 30 minutes en route to a second victory on the season. However, what is this team's offensive identity beyond that of Gunner Stockton tucking it and running after only one read?

This is a team that needed to be jelling heading into the Tennessee game, not falling apart like this...

Mike Bobo continues to hold Georgia offense back from what it could be

For as great as the Georgia defense has been over the last several years, perhaps Dawg Nation needs to take some time and really appreciate what they had with Todd Monken for that incredible three-year run. After the COVID season, it was a back-to-back national championship run for Georgia, the Bulldogs' first two since 1980. Bobo has served in this role before, but he left a ton to be desired.

Overall, Georgia should still have the pieces to hang with anyone in the country. They can out-talent most of the teams they go up against. However, it is starting to become readily apparent that he can no longer out-scheme anyone, especially with Stockton as his run-first quarterback. This was a game where Georgia needed to give Stockton some easy completitions to gain confidence, instead of this...

Ultimately, this is not the first time Dawg Nation has tried to fire Bobo into the sun, and it sadly, will not be the last either. Smart continues to be overly beholden to his coaching friends like Bobo and offensive line coach Stacy Searels. Neither the play-calling or the offensive line has held up its end of the bargain some six quarters into Georgia's 2025 college football season. It is ever going to change?

For now, let's get ready to sweat out a game vs. an FCS opponent in Austin Peay no one saw coming!
