Georgia football have been experiencing a lot of changes on their staff recently. A few days ago a new leader of the NIL department was announced which clearly is a big deal in today’s college football landscape.

But that wasn’t the only change to Georgia’s staff this week as a new leader in the scouting department has been promoted from within the program as well.

New Director of Scouting

Georgia football’s latest staff change was announced on Tuesday when James Ellis was announced as the Director of Scouting. The most recent role held by Ellis was assistant director of player personnel, so he likely already has a lot of experience in evaluating and scouting potential recruits.

Ellis has been with the Georgia football program for quite some time now and was even part of the staff for the 2021 and 2022 National Championships. This is critical because he already has a lot of first hand knowledge on what it takes to be successful at Georgia and how to help contribute to a winning product on the field.

Georgia football reporter Christian Kirby with Georgia Bulldogs on SI shared the following about what this new role for Ellis will look like.

”In his new role, Ellis will be responsible for talent evaluation at both the high school and collegiate levels and will also be responsible for collaborating with the recruiting team to ensure that the Dawgs will be in the best position to acquire the highest level of talent possible.”

It can always be a little concerning whenever there is a change to Georgia’s staff, but this one might not be as scary because of all the experience Ellis already has with Georgia. So this will be an exciting opportunity for him as he undoubtedly will be able to help keep Georgia at the top of the college football world.
