For the last two games Georgia has had to survive without starting running back Nate Frazier. Well, Frazier did have two carries in the second half against Vanderbilt last week, but his injury prevented him from playing the entire game against Vandy and Oklahoma the week before.
The first injury report for Georgia's upcoming showdown at Alabama was released Wednesday night and Frazier was not listed anywhere. That means he is 100 percent healthy and ready to play, but the only problem is that fellow superstar running back Chauncey Bowens has already been ruled out.
Big news for UGA. RB Chauncey Bowens is out. He hurt himself in Vanderbilt game. No Nate Frazier on the report, which is a good sign for Bulldogs. pic.twitter.com/o7wUEYJnxJ

Nate Frazier is back from injury right when Georgia needed him most
Frazier coming back from injury just in time for the Alabama game is perfect timing. Sure it would've been nice to have him against Oklahoma and Vanderbilt the last two weeks, but Georgia proved that they didn't need him in order to win. The feeling heading into Saturday's game is that Georgia will need Frazier if they want a better chance at beating Alabama.
That is especially the case now that Bowens is hurt. The exact nature of his injury isn't known, but the fact that he's already ruled out could indicate that it's serious.
Frazier however will be able to pick up the extra load this weekend in Tuscaloosa. So far this season he is averaging 8.1 yards per carry while racking up five touchdowns in the three games he's played. Georgia's going to need him to have a big day against the Tide this weekend with Bowens being out, but they may have to rely on him even more as the sloppy weather conditions might force both teams to run the ball more than they typically would.
Georgia will miss Chauncey Bowens against Alabama
Bowens is one of the best backup running backs in the SEC. He could go a lot of places and probably be their starter, but he chose to stay at Georgia and create a special backfield alongside Frazier.
So far this season Bowens has totaled 124 yards on 35 carries. That isn't a lot of yards for that amount of carries, but he has been Georgia's go to running back in short yardage situations and has thrived in that role. Against Oklahoma he only had 26 yards on nine carries, but he had two touchdowns when Georgia needed someone to punch the ball in.
Georgia will miss how great he's been in short yardage situations, but he can be explosive too. He has had a few longer runs this season, but he has been even more explosive in the passing game. Three games this season he has a reception of over 20 yards and that's something Georgia's offense has relied on from him.
Frazier will get a lot of snaps against Alabama this weekend, but Bo Walker should expect an increase in his role this weekend too. So far this season he has a solid 134 yards on 20 carries, so it will be interesting to see what he can do with more touches.
It's impossible to predict when Bowens will be back from injury, but for now Georgia will have to move on without him. The good news is that they have plenty of depth in their running back room to sustain this loss, but if one more injury occurs they could be in trouble.
