Some of the worst rumors Georgia could imagine began to swirl Saturday night as fans and insiders starting discussing the possibility of running back Nate Frazier entering the Transfer Portal. Frazier has not entered the portal yet, but it has been said that he has not fully committed to returning to Georgia next season.

Why would Frazier want to leave Georgia? What would make him even consider moving on to a different school? The answer appears to be quite simple and has everything to do with NIL.

Nate Frazier could leave Georgia for a huge payday

Georgia insider Matt DeBary shared in the above post that one of Georgia's most important players was not in the Transfer Portal but that they could enter in the coming days. Since Frazier is one of Georgia's best players and other insiders were openly talking about him, it is clear that this post is about him.

That becomes even more clear when DeBary shared what an anonymous SEC coach told him. This SEC coach told him that a really good running back could cost a team upwards of a million dollars. Since Frazier is one of the top running backs in the country, he is definitely worth what the best running backs in the country are making.

This amount of money is likely what would make Frazier enter the Transfer Portal. Is he making that much at Georgia? Is he making anywhere close to that much in Athens? That is impossible to know, but Kirby Smart's hesitancy to overspend makes it seem like he probably isn't making that much.

So if Frazier does enter the portal it likely only is because of the chance to make more NIL money elsewhere. It's a shame that this is even a possibility, but this is the unfortunate world that college football fans live in now.
