Nation's No. 1 QB gives Georgia football great news

Georgia football got their No. 1 quarterback in the 2026 recruiting class in Jared Curtis. But even though they will have Curtis in Athens for the foreseeable future, Georgia still needs to build out the QB room behind him. And who better for UGA to target than then No. 1 quarterback in the 2027 class?

5-star QB Elijah Haven will visit Georgia this season

According to Rivals, five-star quarterback Elijah Haven plans to visit Georgia football this upcoming season. Rivals ranks Haven as the No. 1 quarterback in the 2027 recruiting class, so it's clear how big of a visit this will be.

Haven will also be taking other visits this season as well to many of the top programs in the country. This includes Alabama, Penn State, Florida, Auburn and LSU.

Georgia clearly has what it takes to win a high profile recruitment like this considering they just won Curtis's recruitment this summer, but Haven's commitment will be much more difficult to earn. His commitment will be more challenging to win based simply on the fact that Curtis is already heading to Georgia.

Players of Haven's caliber to not want to sit on the bench in their careers. They usually will be fine to be a backup as a true freshman, but after that they want to take over and be the starting quarterback. So if Haven were to choose Georgia he more than likely would have to sit behind Curtis for a few years.

If Haven was able to beat out Curtis for the starting job, then Curtis likely would hit the Transfer Portal and head elsewhere which is bad news for Georgia as well.

Having this "problem" would still be a good thing for Georgia, but it is hard to imagine Haven being willing to follow Curtis to Georgia. But so far he is still giving UGA a chance in his recruitment, and that is all Georgia can ask for at this point.
