Georgia and Kirby Smart made headlines in the college football recruiting world on Wednesday when they offered the No. 1 running back in the country. That player is five-star Kemon Spell.
There's only one problem for Georgia in this recruitment, Spell has been committed to Penn State for over a year. And to make matters worse, he is from the state of Pennsylvania as well.
But Georgia is one of the top programs in the country, so this offer surely would give Spell a lot to think about over the next year in his recruitment. However, it only took one day for Spell to get a visit on the books to come to Athens to visit Georgia.

5-star RB Kemon Spell will visit Georgia this season
According to the 247Sports composite rankings, Spell is the No. 8 overall player in the country. He also is the No. 1 running back in the 2027 recruiting class and the top ranked player from the state of Pennsylvania.
The moment Georgia offered Spell it was unclear if he would have any interest in the Bulldogs or not. When a recruit is committed to a program for as long as Spell has it can be extremely challenging to even get a foot on the door. But Georgia has more than a foot in the door as they will host Spell on a visit later this season.
One thing in Georgia's favor in this recruitment is the fact that Penn State has fallen on hard times this season. The Nittany Lions began the season ranked No. 2 in the country, but they have quickly fallen outside the top 25 after back to back losses which included an embarrassing loss to winless UCLA. This loss left Penn State fans begging for head coach James Franklin to lose his job, so the instability in their program could work in Georgia's favor.
The above report does not indicate which game Spell will be in town for, but at the end of the day it doesn't really matter. Georgia is officially in the running for the nation's No. 1 running back, and that is reason enough to be very excited.
