Georgia football's 2025 season is off and running as the Bulldogs hold an early 14-0 lead over the Marshall Thundering Herd. And while everything on the field is going right for UGA so far, it's impossible to not notice starting corner Daylen Everette's absence.
No injury for Everette was publicly reported this week, but Rivals' Radi Nabulsi provided an update on his status now that the first game of the season is underway.
We reported earlier in the week that Daylen was in a boot. He was the one banged up at practice, not Joenel Aguero. https://t.co/vJUgldg6ld

Daylen Everette sidelined with foot injury
Earlier this week rumors were flying around social media that defensive back Joenel Aguero suffered an injury in practice. Kirby Smart however confirmed on Wednesday that this was not true and that Aguero is healthy and not dealing with any injury.
Fast forward to the start of Georgia's game against Marshall and it turns out Georgia fans were correct that an injury did occur to UGA's secondary, they just got the player wrong. It turns out that it is Everette who is dealing with an injury as he is currently walking around in a boot.
No official status has been shared on Everette, but in a game where Georgia is clearly the better team it would be wise to keep Everette on the sideline to prevent any further injury. But the fact that he is dealing with any injury right now is very troubling.
Everette is the No. 1 corner for Georgia this season and is coming off an impressive 2024 season that included winning the SEC Championship game MVP. Everette is an important piece of the puzzle for Georgia's defense, so it is extremely important that he is back to full health before UGA's SEC season begins week three at Tennessee.
Smart will undoubtedly be asked about Everette's injury after the game today, so stay tuned to hear how he is doing and how concerned Georgia fans should be.
