Kirby Smart knows that having a good coaching staff around him is everything. Smart learned that when he was at Alabama under Nick Saban, so it is clear he learned from the best. Smart is very tactical about who he brings on his coaching staff, and his most recent addition seems to be one that everyone will love.
Former Georgia linebacker Jaden Hunter has joined the coaching staff as a defensive analyst. He comes back to Athens after coaching at Georgia State as the assistant linebackers coach.
Hunter, the son of former Georgia wide receiver Brice Hunter, came to the Bulldogs as a 4-star recruit in the Class of 2017. He spent two seasons in Athens before transferring to Western Kentucky, where he finished his college career with 133 tackles, 13 tackles for a loss, 5.5 sacks, two fumble recoveries, and one forced fumble.
Now the younger Hunter is back at Georgia, and he is ready to get the future started at Georgia, as he stated in his most recent social media post. Hunter called for all 2027 prospects to know it is time to truly start looking and stated that he was in their shoes 10 years ago, which may seem like a long time, but not really.

The good thing about Hunter being a part of the coaching staff now at Georgia is that he will be able to connect with the prospects on a younger level, and on the level of a student athlete in this generation.
Hunter knows the process; he knows how recruiting works now, even though he didn't have NIL when he was playing college ball. Getting on the level of recruits by saying you were in their shoes not that long ago is a great way to connect with them where they are.
Smart really played his cards right with this hire, and don't be surprised if Georgai starts to get a few more 2027 commitments. This past weekend, coaches were able to reach out directly to players, so Smart may already be sending Hunter out to work on getting guys in the building.
