Jared Curtis is the future of Georgia football. He is the No. 1 quarterback in the 2026 recruiting class and his commitment to Georgia this summer was one of the biggest recruiting wins in the Kirby Smart era.
Curtis however hasn’t been an easy recruitment to win because he did decommit from Georgia last year. He did ultimately come back and commit to Georgia again this summer, but there was a moment where it felt like he would not be a Bulldog.
But since committing to Georgia a second time, his commitment has never wavered and he has remained faithful to UGA. But that isn’t stopping one team in the SEC from attempting to flip him.
Vanderbilt shooting its shot with local 5-star QB and Georgia commit Jared Curtis, hosting him today for practice. With that being written, "Jared is a Bulldog." The latest here: https://t.co/jBNXxB0tEe pic.twitter.com/f8rBfr1Rkg

New SEC school is pursuing 5-star Georgia commit Jared Curtis
According to On3’s Steve Wiltfong, Vanderbilt has been reaching out to Curtis and are attempting to steal him from Georgia. The Commodores may seem like a random team, but they do have a few things in their favor.
For starters, Vanderbilt is a really good team now. They usually are one of the bottom dwellers in the SEC, but Vanderbilt is 6-1 this season and currently ranked No. 10 in the AP Poll. They also have developed quarterback Diego Pavia into one of the best QBs in the country this season, so his success could stand out to Curtis.
Curtis is also from Nashville, TN, so Vanderbilt is his hometown school. Playing college football close to home is a big draw to a lot of recruits, and Vanderbilt has that in their favor.
Even though all of that is in Vanderbilt’s favor, Wiltfong wrote that “Jared is a Bulldog.” So even though Vanderbilt is attempting to flip him, Curtis’s commitment to Georgia is secure and UGA fans should not be worried about losing him at all.
